Sweden called on the Russian Federation and the United States to extend the INF Treaty


Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Leuven called on Russia and the United States to extend the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START-3). We urge the United States and Russia to agree on an extension of the SNV-3 and call on China to join the discussions on subsequent agreements, the Swedish prime minister said at the general political debate of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly. According to the news agency, earlier US Special Envoy Marshall Billingsley said that if Washington and Moscow do not prepare a presidential memorandum on weapons by February 2021, the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (PRSN) will not be extended. He noted that the United States makes a good offer to Moscow, and if Donald Trump is re-elected as president, the price of the issue will increase.
