Yemen will receive €1 million from Austria as humanitarian aid

The decision to allocate 1 million to Yemen as humanitarian aid was made by the Austrian government. This was announced on June 30 by Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg, quoted by the press service of the country's foreign ministry. By allocating funds, as decided today, we are providing urgent necessary assistance on the spot to reduce the suffering of the civilian population in Yemen, the Austrian Foreign Minister said. He also pointed out that the humanitarian situation in the country is catastrophic due to the protracted armed conflict. In addition, Schallenberg specified that these funds will be transferred to the International Committee of the Red Cross, located in Yemen. Note, as reported by the news agency, since August 2014, the conflict between the government and the Houthis who seized power in the country has continued in Yemen. Since March 2015, on the side of the internationally recognized government led by President Abd Rabbu Mansur Hadi, the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the UAE has been conducting military operations.
