WHO: more than 11.6 million people infected with coronavirus in the world

The number of detected coronavirus facts increased in the world over the past day by 168 thousand and exceeded the mark of 11.6 million, the official website of the World Health Organization (WHO) reports on July 8. To date, 11,669,259 cases of coronavirus infection have been reported worldwide. At the same time, after 4,147 new deaths, the global list of victims of COVID-19 includes 539,906 deaths. The largest number of cases of coronavirus infection was found in the Americas, where more than six million people were infected, as well as in Europe, with 2.8 million infected. According to the news agency, on March 11, the World Health Organization officially recognized the outbreak of coronavirus as a global pandemic.
