Nigeria's leader demanded an investigation into the shooting at his residence

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari ordered an investigation into the shooting incident inside his official residence involving security personnel. This is reported by Air Force Africa. The incident, according to reporters, occurred after a quarrel between one of the presidential aides and several assistants to his wife Aisha Buhari, security was also involved in the conflict. The guards insisted that the presidential aide should be self-insulated within 14 days of returning from a trip outside the country's capital, Abuja, in accordance with government recommendations to prevent the spread of coronavirus. According to eyewitnesses, the guards fired several shots into the air. There were no reports of casualties. Some security personnel attached to the country's first lady were detained by the police. The incident occurred last week, but the media began covering it over the weekend, when President Buhari and his wife made official statements. In a statement issued by Buhari spokesman Garba Shehu, it is reported that a minor incident occurred outside the main residence of the president. The Government said in a statement that the President was not present, and was not at any time in any form of danger, either caused by a fatal disease, or related to an incident with security personnel, which is currently being investigated. Earlier on her Twitter page, the country's first lady, Aisha Buhari, called on the police chief to release her officers so that she would not have to put her life in danger. The incident is considered by experts as another sign of internal struggle in the Nigerian government, where officials often publicly express their disagreement.
