Sudan authorities agree with families of victims of 20-year-old attack
Agreements with the families of the victims of the attack on October 12, 2000 reached the authorities of the Sudan, writes April 6 Sudan Tribune. A statement was made by the Ministry of Justice of the Sudan. Relatives of the dead no longer need to seek compensation through the court, as all payments are made, all their claims are satisfied. Recall, on October 12, 2000, off the coast of Yemen, the terrorist group Al Qaeda (an organization banned in the Russian Federation) attacked the U.S. Navy destroyer Cole. The American ship was attacked by two suicide bombers while it was at a refuelling station in Yemen. 17 U.S. military personnel were killed and 39 injured. The American side, represented by the relatives of the victims, sued Sudan. Khartoum was responsible for al-Qaeda fighters (an organization banned in the Russian Federation) training in terrorist activities in Sudanese territory.
