Number of wild boar deaths from ASF in South Korea increased to 480
In South Korea, wild boar deaths from African swine fever (ASF) continue to be recorded. This is reported by KBS with reference to representatives of the Ministry of Environment. According to them, the boar carcass was first discovered in Koson County, Kanwondo Province. At present, the number of cases of infection of wild animals with this virus has increased to four hundred and eighty. Of these, one hundred and eighty-one cases were recorded in Hwacheon County and Yoncheon County, eighty-six cases in Phaju City, twenty-three cases in Chholwon County, two cases in Yangu County, one case in Coson County. African swine fever (ACF) is a highly contactable viral swine disease characterized by fever, skin cyanosis and extensive hemorrhagia in the internal organs. For humans, African swine fever poses no danger.
