Mirziyoyev released imported flour, meat, oil and sugar from excise
Uzbekistan defines a number of measures to support the population, especially its socially vulnerable categories, President of Uzbekistan Shawkat Mirziyoyev said, commenting on the decree he signed today aimed at supporting the economy, entrepreneurs and the population in the context of the pandemic. In particular, until the end of this year there will be no customs fee and excise tax when importing such basic consumer goods as flour, vegetable oil, meat and dairy products, sugar, hygiene products, the President said. According to him, the payment of benefits to families with children, child care and material assistance, which expires in March-June of this year, is automatically extended from 6 months to 1 year without the need to apply and provide documents. The payment of these benefits to other needy families will also continue, the President stressed. According to him, thanks to these measures we will reach more than 120,000 low-income families (currently 600,000). During the quarantine period, single elderly and persons with disabilities will be provided free of charge with basic food of 18 types and hygienic goods, the head of Uzbekistan stressed.
