Hyundai Motor stops production at Chongju plant due to coronavirus


The South Korean company Hyundai Motor suspended a number of assembly conveyors at a plant in Chongju. This is reported by Yonhap News with reference to representatives of the company. According to them, the work of the truck assembly conveyor will be closed for five days until February 12 due to supply disruptions from China. According to the company 's forecasts, the average daily production of trucks will decrease by 150,160 cars, and daily losses will amount to tens of billions of won. The bus production line will also be suspended for two days from 11 February. As previously reported by the news agency, on February 4, Hyundai Motor suspended one of the two assembly conveyors at the fifth plant in Ulsan, where Genesis vehicles are assembled, as well as one conveyor at the fourth plant responsible for assembling the Hyundai Porter truck.
